New Delhi: The National Zoological Park in Delhi reopened to the public on Sunday after being shuttered for 105 days. During the second wave, the zoo was briefly closed owing to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the national capital.

Dos and Don’ts To Follow In The Delhi Zoo
- Please don’t give the animals anything to eat. The animals are fed a well-balanced diet. Overfeeding harms their health, and they might even die if they eat the incorrect food.
- Please don’t make fun of animals.
- Please do not attempt to pass through the barricades. If you cross them, you might be badly hurt. You may get bitten or clawed by the animals.
- Please take care not to harm the trees, flowers, or grass.
- Please refrain from using the radio, tape recorder, or musical instruments. Animals dislike being disturbed.
- Pets, guns, and weapons of any kind are not permitted in the park.
- Please put all of your trash in the trash cans.
- Packets and polythene should not be brought into the park.
Visitors Should Read Some Basic Information
The fundamental information regarding the entry charge and zoo ethics has been conspicuously displayed at the zoo’s entrance. Moreover, during zoo admission hours, it is aired in Hindi and English over the Public Address System at the entrance.
For tourists, the zoo has its own parking area at the entrance.
The zoo’s directional and orientation signs may be found in prominent locations around the facility.
A map of the zoo is also clearly exhibited at several vantage points across the zoo.
Each animal’s enclosure is equipped with animal signs that provides basic information about the creatures.
On payment, the Zoo Guide Map is provided at the admission window. Because the cost of the map is included in the admission ticket, it is supplied free of charge to international tourists. Other zoo publications are available for purchase at the Director’s office on all Government of India business days.
The zoo features a Walking Trail where visitors may walk around and observe the animals. This trail is accessible to people in wheelchairs.
For the visitors’ comfort, the zoo has supplied nine toilets and one urinal at various points around the zoo.
The easiest method to see the animals in the zoo is to walk around on foot. Some guests, however, are unable to walk to enjoy their zoo visit for a variety of reasons. In order to meet the needs of such tourists, we have made available for hire 12 pollution-free Battery Operated Trolleys. This trolley is run by a private company.
The tourists’ most basic requirement is drinking water. As a result, we’ve made sure that drinking water is readily available throughout the zoo. Fifteen water coolers with water purification are available. The water at these locations is free of charge.
Food is not permitted inside the zoo due to the safety and security of the zoo animals. Bottled water, tea, coffee, ice cream, and soft drinks are available at dedicated sales locations to assist visitors stay refreshed while within the zoo.
The cleanliness of the whole campus is not only aesthetically essential but also allows us to keep our animals in excellent health free from illnesses. As a result, dustbins have been placed throughout the zoo.
Rain shelters may be seen around the Zoo.
The zoo has given 250 resting seats throughout the zoo. For visitors to take a break, seats have been installed at all animal enclosures, restrooms, urinals, and drinking water stations, as well as at the Zoo’s entrance.
Wheelchairs are available for free at the zoo’s entrance for physically challenged guests. They must return the wheel chairs to the same location following their zoo visit.
At the first gate, a free pram service is offered for mothers and their children.
A pota baby feeding hut has been set up near Beat No. 8 for mothers with newborns to use for giving breast milk to their babies.
While visiting the zoo, tourists may get minor injuries or require medical attention. As a result, the zoo’s First Aid station is located in the following locations:
- Near the Booking Counter at the zoo’s main entrance.
- In the director’s office at the zoo.
- At the Veterinary Hospital, to be precise.
- Near Koshminar, at the Range Office.
