Twitch Streamers Salaries Leaked: The highest-paid Twitch channel allegedly earned just under $10 million from the Amazon-owned firm in the previous 24 months.
That’s before any advertising deals or other sources of money, and it doesn’t include what the channel’s founders made from the popular YouTube channel they run, which edits Twitch footage for YouTube fans.
Critical Role is a YouTube channel run by a “bunch of nerdy-ass voice actors” who broadcast everything from complex “Dungeons & Dragons” adventures to discussion shows and lo-fi music.
Critical Role is one of 100 major Twitch broadcasting channels whose income data appears to have been compromised as part of a large-scale Twitch data breach.
Twitch acknowledged the attack on Wednesday afternoon, although it didn’t say what information was stolen in the security breach.
On the anonymous message board 4chan, a torrent of a 125-gigabyte file of data extracted from the breach is spreading.
People began emphasising key facts from the data as the contents spread on Wednesday, such as the top 100 highest-paid Twitch channels:

The list includes big-name broadcasters like Félix “xQc” Lengyel and Imane “Pokimane” Anys, who are reported to have made over $1 million in Twitch income in the previous 24 months.
According to a 4chan post by those claiming responsibility for the breach, the goal was to “foster more disruption and competition in the online video streaming space” because Twitch’s community is “a disgusting toxic cesspool.”
They also detailed the hack’s main contents, which included Twitch’s source code dating back years, an unannounced digital game storefront aimed at competing with Steam, and years of Twitch streamers’ financial records, as well as software development kits for various Twitch apps and related software.
In a statement made to Insider and also shared on Twitter, Twitch acknowledged the data theft.
The statement added, “We can confirm a compromise has occurred.” “Our teams are working quickly to determine the scope of the problem.
As soon as further information becomes available, we will notify the community. Thank you for your patience.”
