Today, August 12, the application procedure for Delhi Schools of Specialized Excellence will begin. Students interested in attending SoSEs associated with the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) can apply online until August 19 at edudel.nic.in. These institutions will give a place for students to develop their skills and flourish in their chosen fields.
Classes from 9 to 12 are covered by Delhi Schools of Specialised Excellence. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Performing and Visual Arts, Humanities, and high-end 21st century skills are all options for pupils.
Guidelines:
Admission will be based on an aptitude test that will be held between August 23 and 29 at these 20 or neighbouring schools.
Admission to all four types of SoSEs is available for Class 9. Admission to STEM SoSE will also be available to Class 11 students.
According to government standards, 50 percent of places in each SoSE are reserved for students from government schools. Students from any Delhi school would be able to use the rest.
The Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi, will release age-related eligibility and reservation guidelines for admission to these institutions.
Eligibility:
Students from Delhi government or recognised schools who have a valid residence permit are eligible to apply.
For entrance to Class 9, a student must have received a minimum of 60% in aggregate in Class 8. This criterion will be removed in the case of Performing and Visual Arts if the candidate has won an award in any Art form in a zonal or upper-level competition.
Admission to Class 11 requires a cumulative score of 75 percent (best of five subjects, including Science and Math) in Class 10.
Students who fall under one of the reserved categories will receive a 5% grade reduction.
