IIM Calcutta: Executive Course In Healthcare Management Launched

The executive programme in healthcare management at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta will be delivered in a blended format.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has announced the establishment of a mixed (offline and online) executive programme in healthcare management. Any professional with a medical background is able to enrol in the programme.

The one-year programme will begin in September 2021 with online classes. The course will involve a ten-day campus visit as well as weekly seminars on Sundays. All applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience in the medical field and have received at least a 50 percent grade in undergraduate and postgraduate school. Medical practitioners and administrators who hold an MBBS, BDS, or BAMS degree or an equivalent degree recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), or the Medical Council of India (MCI) are also eligible to apply.

“The goal of the programme is to build an interdisciplinary attitude toward healthcare management and educate the participants in managerial leadership,” according to an official release from IIM Calcutta. The course also introduces learners to Indian healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as comparative frameworks for understanding healthcare difficulties in developing nations.”

The programme was developed by IIM Calcutta faculty and industry experts. Each aspirant must complete a capstone project that requires students to collaborate in groups. “The programme is incredibly important to the healthcare profession, especially after the global epidemic that the globe continues to witness,” said Rajesh Bhattacharya, programme director, IIM Calcutta. EPHM’s mission is to upskill and train healthcare professionals for the future, equipping them with the knowledge they need to make better decisions.”
