Mahindra University in Hyderabad has established a new School of Law, which will be operational in the 2021-22 academic year. The school provides BBA LLB (Hons) and BA LLB degrees (Hons).

Beginning with the 2021-22 academic year, Mahindra University has established a new School of Law (MU-SoL). This is the university’s third new school, following the establishment of the Ecole Centrale School of Engineering and the School of Management.

The School of Law currently offers two programmes: the five-year integrated BBA LLB (Hons) and the BA LLB (Hons). There are a total of 60 seats available for each programme. Sridhar Acharyulu, a former Central Information Commissioner (CIC) and academician, has been appointed dean of the School of Law. Acharyulu is a writer who has published 48 books in English and Telugu on law and journalism. He previously worked as a professor and registrar at the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR).

According to the Mahindra University statement, he has also published 100 research articles and thousands of newspaper articles. “MU-SoL aspires to send its graduated students to various corporate houses, judiciary, and leading law firms upon successful completion of their 5 years integrated course,” Mahindra University added in a statement.

“We are pleased to announce the establishment of Mahindra University’s School of Law,” said Yajulu Medury, Vice-Chancellor of Mahindra University. It is a pleasure to welcome Sridhar Acharyulu as its founding Dean, and together with the MU School of Law faculty, we will make a significant difference in legal education in the coming years.” In addition to professional courses in management, law, and education, the university plans to open schools of liberal arts, applied sciences, and design in 2022.
