Asmita Yojana Registration 2022-23 – ‘Asmita’ is a scholarship scheme offered by Drishti IAS. Its goal is to make every effort to address the declining Hindi medium result in the Civil Services Examination.
Under this scheme, it will select around 100 (50 per year) candidates whose merit and commitment are beyond doubt and who are determined to crack the Civil Services Examination. Drishti IAS Asmita Scholarship- Number And Background of Beneficiaries
In this scheme, about 50 candidates will be selected every year and they will be given accommodation, food, coaching classes, notes, test series, library, and other facilities free of cost for 1-2 years. With the selection of about 50 candidates every year, the total number of beneficiaries of this scheme will be kept constant at around 100.
After 50 successful candidates, some of the best candidates will be given free admission to the mentorship scheme of Team Drishti. It will not have facilities like a free hostel, food, and classes, but facilities like a free library, mentorship, and regular tests will be available.
Every effort will be made to give preference to the candidates coming from disadvantaged groups of society. Broadly speaking, candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Sections, Women, Scheduled Castes and Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Divyang, Minorities, and other disadvantaged groups will be given preference.
Efforts will be made to give at least that proportion of opportunities to the candidates belonging to the disadvantaged sections who are given reservations in the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, although there will be no compulsion in case of lack of quality. For example, every effort will be made to ensure this representation of Scheduled Castes (15%), Scheduled Tribes (7.5%), Other Backward Classes (27%), and Economically Weaker Sections (10%). Similarly, efforts will be made to give 4% horizontal representation to Divyangjan.
Efforts will be made to give proper representation to the deprived sections who do not get reservations in the Civil Services Examination. For example women and minority communities.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply Online For Drishti IAS Scholarship Test
To apply for this scheme, an applicant has to fulfill the following conditions-
- He/she must have cleared the preliminary examination at least once in the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission or in the State Level Civil Services Examination conducted by any State Public Service Commission.
- His age as of 1st August, 2022 should not exceed the following:
- General Category: 30 Years
- EWS Category: 30 Years
- OBC Category: 33 Years
- SC/ST Category: 35 Years
- PwBD/PH Category: 37 Years
- He/she must have at least two attempts left in the Federal Civil Services Examination (UPSC CSE).
- Hindi should be his medium in the Civil Services Examination.
- He should not be currently employed and salaried in any government or private job.
- At present, he is not getting such scholarship/scholarship from the Central or State Government or any university / other institution in which ₹ 5000 / – or more is given per month.
- Note 1: Students who have ever studied at Drishti Institute, if they meet the rest of the criteria, will be given preference in the selection process as they are the primary responsibility of the Institute.
- Note 2: This scheme is for the preparation for the Civil Services Examination (UPSC CSE). If a candidate is preparing only for the State Level Civil Services Examination (PCS) or other competitive examinations (like IFoS, IES, CDS) then he/she will not be eligible for this.
- Note 3: Candidates who are in a job or earning scholarships, will be able to apply for the ‘mentorship scheme’ of team vision only but will not be eligible for facilities like free hostel, etc. by joining ‘Asmita Yojana’.
- Note 4: If a person is in a job but is currently on unpaid leave for a long period, then he can apply for the said period. In the event of getting selected in the scheme, such applicants will be admitted only after adequate verification of their documents and taking an affidavit.
- Note 5: If a candidate has been selected for a scholarship/fellowship amounting to more than ₹ 5000/- per month but is not planning to take a fellowship yet, then he can apply in this scheme for the said period. In the event of getting selected in the scheme, such applicants will be admitted only after adequate verification of their documents and taking an affidavit.
- Note 6: In the rarest of rare cases, the ‘Asmita’ Management Committee shall have full right to modify these rules.
Selection Process
Normally the selection process will be conducted once a year. Around 50 candidates will be selected annually. In exceptional circumstances, this process may be conducted more than once a year.
It will not be mandatory that the selection should be done for all the places. This number can be kept even lower if the selection process does not find enough candidates of the requisite qualification level. Similarly, this number can be increased in the presence of highly qualified candidates.
A three-stage entrance test will be conducted for the selection process. This examination will generally be conducted on the same pattern as the Civil Services Examination. It will have three stages – Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview.
The exam will be of a total of 700 marks. Marks of Main Examination (500 Marks) and Interview (200 Marks) will be added to the final result. Marks of qualifying papers (Preliminary Examination and General English) will not be counted.
After the declaration of the final result of the examination, the cut-off list for each stage will be issued and their mark-sheet will also be made available to the candidates.
