NEW DELHI: For Madhyamik Pariksha 2022, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has shortened the Class 10 syllabus by 30-35 percent. The syllabus for seven topics has been reduced by the board. Due of the COVID-19 epidemic, no physical courses were held, therefore this choice was taken.
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education has written notification to all heads of institutions in this respect. All seven disciplines, including first and second language, history, geography, physical science, life science, and mathematics, will be affected by the shortened syllabus.
According to Indian Express, the headmaster of a state-run school in Jadavpur claimed that pupils were having difficulty owing to the suspension of offline lessons, and that online lectures were insufficient for an average student to finish the whole curriculum. As a result, the board decided to make this choice.
The board already announced the WBBSE Madhyamik result 2021, which showed a 100% pass rate. In the WBBSE result 2021, a total of 79 students received 697 points. Students are also interested in learning more about the West Bengal school reopening. Following the completion of Durga Puja, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that schools in the state may reopen on alternating days. It is entirely dependent on COVID-19; only if the situation is favourable will the schools reopen.
