Calcutta University Waives Fees For UG, PG Students

NEW DELHI: For the 2021-22 academic year, the University of Calcutta has eliminated all costs, including tuition, entrance, and examination fees, for all undergraduate and postgraduate students in various semesters. Students are also exempt from paying fees to get mark sheets for various semester tests.

“This is to notify everyone concerned that, in light of the current pandemic scenario, the University has abolished all fees for students (PG and University UG students) for the academic year 2021-2022 for various semesters,” the Calcutta university stated in an official statement.

Bratya Basu, the minister of higher education in West Bengal, also shared the news on social media. “Everyone is going through a difficult period right now. In light of the numerous problems we face as a result of #COVID19, #CalcuttaUniversity has agreed to waive tuition costs for various semesters. We will win this struggle together under MamataOfficial’s compassionate leadership!” Bratya Basu stated in a social media post.

The Delhi government, led by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, has announced that it will cover the cost of schooling for any kids whose parents died as a result of COVID-19. The Delhi government has instructed schools to place such children in the same class and provide them with free education.
