NEW DELHI: All government and private schools in Delhi from grades 9 to 12, as well as colleges, universities, and coaching institutions, will resume on September 1, according to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. In a social media post on Twitter, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia stated, “In Delhi, it has been agreed to reopen schools, colleges, and coaching centres in stages. Programs for grades 9-12 in all schools, all coaching classes, and all institutions will be allowed to resume on September 1st.”
He stated that a decision on whether or not to reopen schools for lower grades would be made following an analysis of the impact of reopening schools for senior grades. Parents’ consent will be necessary for kids to attend school, according to Sisodia. No pupil will be compelled to attend class. On September 1, schools for grades 9 to 12 will reopen, while schools for grades 6 to 8 will return on September 8. Online classes, on the other hand, will continue, and students will not be forced to attend physical classes.
Parental approval is also required. Almost 98 percent of the Delhi government school personnel has received at least one dosage of the vaccine. The topic of reopening schools in Delhi was previously discussed in a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), which included Lt Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and Sisodia.
