Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University Inaugurated By President

At Gorakhpur today, President Ram Nath Kovind laid the foundation stone for Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH Vishwavidyalaya.

NEW DELHI: President Ram Nath Kovind today inaugurated the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH Vishwavidyalaya in Gorakhpur, according to a tweet from the president’s office. In a social media post, President Ram Nath Kovind said, “President Ram Nath Kovind laid the foundation stone for the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH Vishwavidyalaya at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.”

President Ram Nath Kovind stated that AYUSH medicine systems have played a vital role in strengthening people’s immunity in the fight against COVID-19, particularly during the second wave of the pandemic, during the university’s foundation-laying event. According to an official release, although the ministry of AYUSH was created in 2014 for systematic teaching and research in the domains of these medicine systems, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath established the department of AYUSH in 2017. With the foundation of this institution, Kovind is optimistic that AYUSH medical institutes would be able to conduct better work in the field of medicine.

According to the official release, “he expressed optimism that the creation of Mahayogi Gorakhnath AYUSH University in Gorakhpur will further enhance the education and popularity of AYUSH systems.”
