Amity University Gets National Intellectual Property Award For Patents

The award was presented to the private institution in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, for the first time on Tuesday at a CII webinar with Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal as the special guest.

Noida: According to the Confederation of Indian Industry, the private Amity University has won the National Intellectual Property Award 2020 for being the best academic institution in the country for patents and commercialization (CII).

The award was presented to the private institution in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, for the first time on Tuesday at a CII webinar with Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal as the special guest. According to a CII statement, 16 awards were presented on the platform of the National IP Awards, including four World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) awards. The National IP Awards were organised by the CII in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Indian Patent Office (IPO).

According to Amity University authorities, the university has received over 200 patents in the previous two years. Goyal handed the award to Ashok K Chauhan, the founder and president of Amity Education Group.
