NEW DELHI: According to a Hindustan Times story, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the state government will adopt the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 from April 1, 2022. All high schools would be transformed into senior secondary schools under the strategy. According to Biswa Sarma, the policy’s implementation would be finished by March of next year.
The Chief Minister, according to the article, said: “From April 1, 2022, the state government will adopt the New Education Policy (NEP). All high schools would be transformed into senior secondary schools under the NEP. Within a year, the government will enhance educational institutions’ academic infrastructure for this purpose.”
According to the article, Sarma also stated that the state government would continue to introduce new NEP provisions to the school system every year in order to modernize the whole education system in the next five years. He also stated that while science and math will be taught in English, other courses will be taught in the native tongue, according to the article.
