CBSE Board 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheet for the Class 10 and 12 board exams for the academic year 2025. However, many students have expressed concerns about the short preparatory gap between certain subjects, particularly for Chemistry and Physics.
Key Details of CBSE Board Exams 2025
- Exam Start Date: February 15, 2025
- Class 10 First Exam: English
- Class 12 First Exam: Entrepreneurship
- Exam Timings: All exams will begin at 10:30 am.
- Detailed Schedule: Available on the official CBSE website
Students’ Concerns Over Short Gap Between Exams
Following the release of the date sheet, numerous students took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to voice their concerns regarding the schedule. The primary issue raised was the limited preparatory gap between key subjects like Chemistry and Physics, which require significant time for in-depth study.
Complaints from Students
- Chemistry and Physics Preparation: Students expressed frustration over the short gap between their Chemistry and Physics exams. Some students stated that they felt unprepared due to the limited time to revise both subjects effectively.
One student posted:
“5 days gap for chemistry and 15 days for biology… I actually wish I had 10 days gap for chemistry instead.” - Subjects with Consecutive Exam Days: Another student mentioned the challenge of having consecutive exams for Home Science and Psychology, without even a single day in between for revision.
“What’s worse, Home Science is on 3rd April, and Psychology is the next day… no gap at all. It’s insane.”
CBSE’s Official Response
In response to these concerns, CBSE issued a statement emphasizing that while they acknowledged the complaints, they had taken measures to ensure adequate gaps between subjects for students who take multiple exams.
Statement from CBSE
CBSE clarified:
“A sufficient gap has been given between two subjects generally offered by a student in both classes. The date sheet has been carefully prepared, taking into account over 40,000 subject combinations to ensure that no two exams chosen by a student fall on the same date.”
Advantages of Early Release of Date Sheet
For the first time, CBSE has released the date sheet nearly 86 days before the start of the exams, which is 23 days earlier than the previous year. This early release aims to provide several benefits:
Benefits for Students, Teachers, and Families
- Early Preparation: Students can start their preparations well in advance, helping to reduce stress and improve performance.
- Better Planning: Families and teachers can plan their schedules, including summer vacations and evaluation duties, without affecting the academic calendar.
- Efficient Exam Center Planning: Schools serving as exam centers will have sufficient time to plan their academic activities and organize logistical requirements.
