The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited college and university students to apply for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS). On the national scholarship portal (NSP), www.scholarships.gov.in, you can apply for CSSS online for the year 2021. Candidates can renew their scholarships on the portal; the first renewal is for the year 2020, the second is for 2019, the third is for 2018, and the fourth is for 2017. Candidates can use the portal to apply for new scholarships as well as to renew their existing scholarships. The deadline for submitting an online application form for both new and renewed scholarships is November 30.
The Department of Higher Education has been implementing the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students since 2008 with the goal of providing financial assistance to deserving students to cover a portion of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher education. For students pursuing their graduation for the first three years of college and university courses, the rate of scholarship is Rs. 10000 per year, and for postgraduate students, the rate is Rs. 20000 per year. In the fourth and fifth years, students pursuing technical courses are paid Rs. 20,000 per year. Every year, applicants must reapply for renewal scholarships on NSP. Students pursuing B.Tech, BE would get 4 installment of scholarship only i.e Rs. 10000 per annum for first three years and Rs. 20,000 per annum in the 4th year.
Candidates are advised by CBSE to submit their applications within the specified time frame and have their online applications verified by the respective institutions. The application will be verified by the Institute until December 15. Institutional nodal officers have also been asked to verify the online application in a timely manner.
