Admission process: Way forward
Candidates that participated in the third round of seat allocation were offered three alternatives by the consortium. The following are the details.
- Accept your share of the pie.
- Apply for a promotion.
- Remove yourself from the admissions process.
Candidates who want to accept the seat or apply for the next round of seat assignment must submit their papers and pay the cost by August 14 at 5 p.m. on the CLAT 2021 login page.
Accepting NLU allotment
Candidates who choose this option must finish the admissions procedure by providing all required documentation and paying the academic fees as directed. In later rounds, however, such applicants will not be considered for an upgrade.
Apply for upgrade
The upgrade option is available to candidates who want to go to the next phase of the selection process and get a different NLU than the one originally assigned. Candidates applying for the upgrade must log into the CLAT 2021 login page and upload the required documentation. Such candidates will also be required to pay fees to the NLU that has been assigned to them. Only the remainder payments are due from candidates who have previously paid their fees in the second or first round of allocation (the difference amount as specified by the allotted university). It should be reminded that candidates who have not paid their fees or submitted their papers to the designated NLU will not be considered for the upgrade option.
Exit CLAT 2021 admission process
This option is available to candidates who do not wish to participate in the CLAT admissions procedure. Candidates who drop out of the admissions process will not be considered for admission in any CLAT round. Candidates who did not receive a seat in the third round of allocation are encouraged to wait for the next or subsequent round. On August 17, the fourth round of allocation will be announced.
