GATE 2022 Registration; Check Eligibility, Important Dates, Fee

NEW DELHI: Registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, or GATE 2022, will commence on August 30. GATE 2022 will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. On the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in – interested applicants can fill out the GATE 2022 application form.

Only one application form should be filled out by a candidate who is competing in one or two papers. If there are several applications, only one will be approved, and the others will be rejected with no return of the amount paid. The deadline for GATE 2022 registration is September 24, 2021.

The table below contains all of the relevant dates for the GATE entrance examination. GATE exams will be held on February 5, 6, 12, and 13, 2022.

GATE 2022: Eligibility criteria

 

Before applying for the test, candidates should review the GATE 2022 eligibility requirements published by IIT Kharagpur.

  • A candidate who is currently enrolled in the third or higher year of a bachelor’s degree programme.
  • The GATE 2022 test is open to candidates who have finished any government-approved degree programme in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, or the Arts.
  • Candidates who have certification from one or more professional organisations must guarantee that the societies’ tests are authorised by the Ministry of Education/ AICTE/ UGC/ UPSC as equal to BE/ BTech/ BArch/ BPlanning, and so on.
  • Candidates who earned/are pursuing their qualifying degree in a country other than India include: Must be in their third or higher year of study or have earned a bachelor’s degree (at least three years in length) in Engineering, Technology, Science, Arts, or Commerce.

This year, two new topics were added to the programme: Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and Geomatics Engineering. The overall number of topics for GATE 2022 has been increased from 27 to 29.
