NEW DELHI: For the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE 2021) and the National Eligibility Cumulation Entrance Test, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has eliminated the option of providing preference to applicants older in age from the tie-breaking policy (NEET 2021).
Due to the large number of students who take the engineering and medical entrance exams each year, it is conceivable for applicants to receive the same score. In these situations, the NTA uses its usual tie-breaking procedure. This year, neither the JEE 2021 nor the NEET 2021 official information brochures include the age requirement for breaking ties and assigning applicants rankings.
JEE 2021 tie-breaking method
The following is the technique utilised by NTA to generate the JEE 2021 rank list in the event of a tie amongst candidates who received equal NTA marks in BE/ BTech.
- NTA score in Mathematics, followed by
- NTA score in Physics, followed by
- NTA score in Chemistry, followed by
- Candidates having a lesser ratio of negative to positive responses
Candidates above the age of 50, on the other hand, were given precedence in 2020.
NEET 2021 tie-breaking rule
In the event that two or more applicants score the same on the NEET (UG) – 2021, the inter-se-merit will be decided as follows:
- Candidate who scored higher in the Biology (Botany and Zoology) section of the test, followed by.
- Candidate who scored higher in the Chemistry section of the test, followed by.
- Candidate who has a lower proportion of attempted wrong responses and right answers in all of the exam subjects.
According to the information booklet issued this year, the tie-breaking criteria for NEET 2021 do not include the age element.
Today, the NTA began the last step of JEE Main 2021. The fourth session of the JEE Main will take place on August 26, 27, 31, and September 1 and 2. The NEET 2021 test will be held on September 12th.
