The DBSE will begin with 30 schools as affiliates. The Delhi government announced that twenty Schools of Specialized Excellence (SoSE) would be established under the board by August 15.
The Delhi government and the International Baccalaureate (IB) board inked an agreement on August 11. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has stated that the IB will be affiliated with the forthcoming Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE).
“The Delhi government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Board. The International Baccalaureate will be affiliated with the forthcoming Delhi Board of School Education. With DBSE and IB partnership, Delhi’s Education Revolution will reach new heights,” Mr Kejriwal said.

According to a study, all Schools of Specialised Excellence would teach the IB curriculum.
According to the National Capital government, SoSEs under the Delhi Board of School Education will cater to students in Classes 9 to 12 who have a special aptitude and interest in specific domains of study such as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts, and High-end 21st Century Skills.
Eight schools will specialise in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), five schools will specialise in Humanities and High-End 21st Century Skills, and two schools will specialise in Performing and Visual Arts, out of the 20 SoSEs in the first phase.
Admission to the specialised schools will be available to Class 9 students in Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts, and High-end 21st Century Skills in the first year.
Admission to STEM schools will be available to students in grades 9 and 11. For admission to theSoSEs, an aptitude test will be taken, and the admission schedule will be provided subsequently.
