Odisha Police Constable Recruitment 2024: The deadline to apply for the 2024 Sepoy/Constable recruitment exam has been extended once more by the Odisha Police State Selection Board (SSB). This time, the Odisha High Court’s directive has resulted in an extension of the application deadline.
Due to the puja holidays, the application date was initially extended from October 13 to October 30. According to the most current announcement, hopefuls have until November 15 to submit their applications.
According to the SSB, some candidates petitioned the HC to lower the upper age restriction. The board initially told them that they had from November 1 to November 7 to turn in their applications. Nonetheless, the court granted an extension of the application deadline until November 15 on October 28.

It further stated that the time for application form corrections will be open from November 17 to November 20.
The number of openings to be filled through the Sepoy/Constable recruitment exam was recently enhanced by the Odisha Police. The overall number of vacancies increased from 1,360 to 2,030 after the board announced the addition of 720 positions in different battalions.
About eligibility and exam pattern
The Constable and Sepoy positions are not open to women, transgender people, or people with benchmark disabilities (PwBD). On January 1, the applicant must be at least eighteen and no older than twenty-three.
According to the regulations, the SSB will grant candidates in the reserved category an age relaxation.
Candidates must pass the final exam in Class 10 with Odia as one of the topics. They need to know how to read, write, and speak Odia.
According to SSB Odisha, only Indian citizens who are in excellent health and have no physical or organic problems are eligible to apply.
They are not allowed to have more than one living spouse, but this may be exempted under personal law or other grounds, it added.
There are four stages in the selection process-
- Computer–Based Recruitment Examination (CBRE),
- Measurement of Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency Test
- Driving test
- Medical examination.
There will be 100 multiple-choice, objective-type questions on the computer-based test. It will take two hours and be worth 100 marks.
There will be a 0.25 mark deduction for each incorrect response.
