IRCTC.com allows you to reserve a 2S (second sitting) class, however 2S is not the same as General Compartment. 2S stands for Second Sitting; it is a reserved class with a seat number on your ticket; it is not to be confused with General Compartment, which is an unreserved class (UR).

Cancellation costs of Rs 240 for AC First Class/Executive Class, Rs 200 for AC 2 Tier/First Class, Rs 180 for AC 3 Tier/AC Chair car/AC 3 Economy, Rs 120 for Sleeper Class will be deducted if a confirmed ticket is cancelled up to 48 hours before the train’s planned departure.
