]]>NEW DELHI: On Saturday, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) – Postgraduate was held at 679 locations throughout the nation, with 1.6 lakh applicants taking part in COVID-19 procedures.
Due to COVID-19, the exam was rescheduled twice. In a tweet, Congressman Shashi Tharoor stated that several students had complained to him about a last-minute exam centre change that had caused them trouble.
When asked about it, Professor Pawanindra Lal, Executive Director of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), said that due to security concerns, two centres in Sonipat and Panipat were changed on September 8 and 9, respectively, and candidates were relocated to new centres in Delhi.
“Over a hundred NEET-PG, 2021, applicants have written to me since the government doesn’t reply!” Tharoor said on Twitter, tagging screenshots of a message concerning a change in test centre. “They are in a panic since the exam is tomorrow. The most recent complication: many students were notified of a change of centre at the last minute (one day before the exam); many did not receive admission cards “In a tweet, he stated.
“Every care was taken to tell each and every applicant individually by phone calls, emails, and SMS to ensure they download and print the revised admit card with updated centres and are able to get at the site on time,” Professor Lal added.
The NEET-PG was originally planned for January 10, but due to the COVID-19 issue, it was delayed until April 18. On the directives of the PMO, it was rescheduled due to the second Covid wave. The exam would be held after August 31st, according to those guidelines.
Then September 11 was designated as the earliest feasible date,” Professor Lal stated. According to him, 1,66,259 applicants took the NEET-PG exam on Saturday, and all were given protective gear, including a face shield, mask, and hand sanitizer, to ensure the exam’s safety.
The Delhi-NCR area saw severe rains on the day of the examinations, causing flooding and traffic congestion in various sections of the city. On September 12, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) – Undergraduate, 2021 will be held.
