Dead Island 2 will be the first game to feature Alexa Game Control
Alexa from Amazon will allow you to voice-tattle on zombies in Dead Island 2.
Alexa Game Control will debut in Dead Island 2, but it will only be available on Xbox and PC
With the help of a new tool from Amazon dubbed Alexa Game Control, players will be able to do tasks in video games using voice commands in natural language
The zombie-filled Dead Island 2, which was just re-revealed at Gamescom's Opening Night Live event, will be the first game to use the technology
With Alexa Game Control, according to Amazon, you'll be able to interact with NPCs and change weapons just by speaking
The functionality will work with "any microphone or headset connected to their PC or console," meaning you won't even need to have an Amazon Echo device or use a wake phrase like "Alexa."
However, you will be able to utilise Alexa services like ordering food and controlling smart home appliances
You'll be able to use your voice to access "in-game elements like navigation (by saying "where is the next workbench")"
And "manipulate zombie hordes (by saying "hello zombie")" in Dead Island 2
Which is scheduled to release on February 3rd, 2023, according to an Amazon blog post
