Day 1 MAH CET exam analysis 2021- Main Highlights
MAH CET section name | MAH CET sectional analysis of day 1 exam |
Verbal Ability/ Reading Comprehension | The VARC section consists of 45 to 50 questions with about 30 VA questions and around 15 RC questions. Overall, the VARC section was easier than in the previous year. Although the number of reading comprehension questions was the same as last year, there were four passages instead of the usual two. The paragraphs were challenging to read and often with hypothetical questions. There were familiar question types in the VA section. Most VA questions are easy and can be answered quickly with high accuracy. |
Quantitative Aptitude | There were about 50 questions on QA in the first slot of CET 2021. The big surprise is that there are no questions in the data interpretation. Similarly, there are no questions about the Quantitative Comparison, Approximations, and Data Sufficiency of a large deviation from recent years. The difficulty level of the questions on QA was easier as compared to recent years. The questions on QA were dominated by questions on Arithmetic. There were about 25 questions on Arithmetic and its subtopics. |
Logical Reasoning | Questions on LR were dominated by questions on non-verbal reasoning. There were about 50 to 55 questions on Non-Verbal Reasoning and 20 questions on VR. Out of the 55 questions on Non-VR, 40 questions were set based and there were 15 standalone questions. There were no questions on Selection Criteria or Sequential Output The verbal reasoning questions were in the easy to moderate difficulty range. |
Abstract Reasoning | There were about 25 questions on Abstract Reasoning There were questions on series completion, analogies, and the odd man out like in recent years. Additionally, questions on ‘paper folding’ made a comeback to CET after several years. There was one question that combined multiple odd-man-out questions. That was somewhat complex but all other questions in the AR section were rather easy. |
