Recruitment Process Overview
The RPF SI recruitment process includes three stages designed to ensure a fair and rigorous selection of candidates. These stages are:
Computer-Based Test (CBT)
The first stage is a graduation-level Computer-Based Test (CBT), which consists of 120 questions to be completed within 90 minutes. Each correct answer is awarded one mark, while 1/3rd mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. For exams conducted across multiple shifts, marks will be normalized to ensure fairness.
The minimum qualifying percentage is:
- 35% for candidates from UR, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories.
- 30% for candidates from SC and ST categories.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT), along with Document Verification (DV). The number of candidates shortlisted will be up to ten times the number of available vacancies.
Ex-Servicemen are exempt from the PET but must appear for the PMT to validate their physical eligibility.
Document Verification (DV)
The final stage involves Document Verification (DV). Candidates who successfully clear the CBT and meet the PET and PMT requirements will proceed to this phase. The selection for DV is contingent upon performance in the CBT.
Key Points for Candidates
Candidates should prepare diligently for the upcoming stages, as the recruitment process is competitive. It is also crucial to stay updated with official announcements on the regional RRB websites to avoid missing any important deadlines or notifications.
