Bihar Revised School Timings: To address the challenges posed by the ongoing cold wave conditions, the Bihar Education Department has revised the operational hours for government schools across the state. The updated schedule aims to prioritize the well-being of students and staff as temperatures drop significantly.
New School Timings
According to the directive issued by Additional Chief Secretary S Siddharth on Thursday, the new school timings will be:
- Start Time: 9:30 AM.
- End Time: 4:00 PM.
- Classes Begin: First bell at 10:00 AM.
- Classes End: Eighth bell at 4:00 PM.
Lunch Break Schedule
- Timing: 12:00 PM to 12:40 PM.
- Number of Periods: The school day will consist of eight periods.
Previous Timings
Previously, government schools in Bihar operated between 8:50 AM and 4:30 PM, which included a slightly longer schedule.
Board Exams and Regular Classes
The directive underscores that ongoing board examinations should not disrupt regular classes. Schools must make alternative arrangements to ensure uninterrupted instruction for non-examining students.
Objective Behind the Change
The decision to revise school timings reflects the government’s commitment to safeguarding students and staff from the adverse effects of the cold wave. By starting classes later in the morning, the Education Department aims to mitigate the impact of freezing temperatures during early hours.
