Medical Counselling Committee Notification 2024: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced a crucial update for postgraduate medical candidates participating in the counselling process. Candidates who wish to resign from their allotted seats in Round 1 or Round 2 can now do so. The resignation window is open from December 17, 2024, at 4:00 PM, and the deadline to complete the process is December 26, 2024, at 6:00 PM.

Resignation Procedure for Round 1 and Round 2 Seats

To facilitate postgraduate candidates who wish to leave their allocated seats, MCC has provided specific guidelines. These measures address the needs of candidates who may have personal or professional reasons to withdraw from their current allotments.

Candidates must visit the official MCC website to initiate the resignation process. After completing the resignation, they are required to report physically to the allotted college to formalize their withdrawal.

“MCC is in receipt of many requests from PG candidates who want to resign their Round-1 or Round-2 seats due to various reasons. In this regard, the competent authority has decided to allow resignation for such candidates. The candidates who desire to leave their Round-1 or Round-2 seat can do so from 04:00 PM of 17.12.2024 upto 06:00 PM of 26.12.2024.”

Guidelines for Candidates Resigning From Seats

MCC has outlined important instructions that candidates must follow to ensure their resignation is valid:

  1. For Fresh Allotments in Round 2: Candidates who received a seat in Round 2, joined it, and now wish to resign can vacate the seat. However, they will forfeit their security deposit if the resignation is completed within the stipulated period.
  2. For Upgraded Seats in Round 2: Candidates upgraded to a new seat in Round 2, who joined the upgraded seat but now wish to resign, can also vacate the seat with the forfeiture of their security deposit.
  3. Physical Reporting Requirement: Candidates must physically report to the allotted college to complete the resignation process.
  4. Online Resignation Letter: It is mandatory for the resignation letter to be generated online through the portal provided by MCC. Without an online resignation letter, the resignation will be considered null and void.
